Abortion where an abnormality/anomaly was detected in the foetus
In this case, a pregnant person can seek abortion if:
- the gestation period is between 20 to 24 weeks, AND
- two Registered Medical Practitioners have opined that there is a substantial risk that if the child were born, it would suffer from any serious physical or mental abnormality.[1]

Notes
1
If a Medical Board (constituted by the State Governments, or on an ad hoc basis by a Court) diagnoses that the foetus has significant abnormalities/anomalies, these two requirements (of gestation period between 20 to 24 weeks, and recommendation for MTP by two RMPs) is waived off.
