What kinds of discrimination are prohibited under the Act?
A protected person has the right to non-discrimination in the private or public sector. You cannot be subjected to denial, discontinuation or unfair treatment in:
- Employment or occupation;
- Healthcare services;
- Educational institutions and services;
- Access to goods, accommodation, services, facilities, and public spaces (shops, restaurants, hotels, wells, burial grounds, etc.);
- Right of movement;
- Right to reside, purchase, rent, or occupy property;
- Standing for or holding public or private office;
- Government or private establishments providing care or custody;
- Insurance (unless supported by actuarial studies).
