Can my HIV status be revealed in court proceedings?

If felt necessary, you can seek suppression of such a revelation by the court, if you are party to a litigation. You can ask the court to:

Use a fake name for you in all records, hold the hearing in private (not open to the public), and stop anyone from publishing information that could identify you.

Anyone who reveals your HIV status during a court case without the court's permission can be fined up to ₹1 lakh.
