What should I do if I believe I am denied healthcare, education, or housing because of my HIV status?

  • File a complaint with the Complaints Officer of the concerned establishment.
  • For denial of healthcare specifically, approach the Ombudsman in your state, they are required to decide healthcare-related complaints on the same day in emergency situations.
  • You can also go to a civil court directly for any violation of the Act, or in appeal if you are dissatisfied with the decision of the Complaints Officer or the Ombudsman.
