Who does the Act enable to become guardians of children when parents and legal guardians are incapacitated?
If a child is between 12 and 18 years old, has sufficient maturity, and is managing the family because both parents and the legal guardian are incapacitated due to HIV/AIDS, the law recognises them as a guardian for their younger siblings. This allows them to handle school admissions, bank accounts, property, care, and treatment on behalf of younger siblings.
