Abortion is a healthcare service, and is available to all pregnant persons irrespective of dis/abilities.

Women with major physical and/or intellectual disabilities per criteria laid down under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 can seek abortion up to 24 weeks. Beyond 24 weeks, permission of the court is required.

In case of intellectual disabilities and/or the pregnant person is a minor, the consent of one's parent or guardian is required in writing.
