Can my name and my abortion-related information be disclosed?
All Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) are required to keep abortion-related records confidential. Revealing the identity of a person seeking an abortion is a punishable offence under the Act, unless such disclosure is demanded by law.
Additionally, RMPs are not required to reveal the identity of minors even while submitting mandatory POCSO reports to the police.
