Can I be forced to undergo an abortion without my consent?
The consent of the pregnant person is mandatory for abortion. Conducting an abortion without the consent of the pregnant person is illegal, and a punishable offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
A FIR can be filed if the pregnant person is forced to undergo abortion by their partner/spouse, other family member(s), doctor(s), or anyone else.
